What IS this thing?
Apple has been pushing Apple Guide for over a year now. Although I knew of it, it wasn't until 12/95 that I understood how it's put together and how versatile it is. I decided to create an online Marathon Map Making assistant for those of you that might be able to use an online reference.

When will I see updates?
As often as I make them. This map editor guide will stay in 'development' format until every aspect of map making in placed into it.

Why did you make it?
Because I needed one myself. According to Apple's Human Interface Guidelines, it's bad design to have a separate application for online help.

What do I need to run it?
Apple recently released an extension that allows users of pre-System 7.5 to use Apple Guide. So basically, you need Apple Guide. It would help if you got the Espy font to go with it, but it should come with Apple Guide.

How do I use it?
Place the Marathon Map Making Assistant document in the same folder as your favorite map editor. If Apple Guide is installed correctly, you should get the MMMA menu item in your help menu. Select it if you need online help.

Hey! It's not done!
No it's not. But it will be soon. This release served two purposes: 1) For my practice, and 2) for user's reponses. If you like it, hate it, please email me either way!

What can I expect in the future?
Pictures. I'll be working with many, many lawyers to get whatever pictures I can without getting my house taken away from me :) I want to make all parties happy.

Why only Marathon 2?
*Sigh*. I personally miss the Marathon music on net levels, but it looks like I'm in the minority, so this assistant only supports Marathon 2.

What do I do if I really like it?
Pay Bungie for Marathon and/or Marathon 2 if you didn't yet.

That's all for now. Look on amug and alt.games.marathon for updates.
